The OS-9 Guru

This book by Paul S. Dayan is the authoritative reference for the inner workings of OS-9 2.4. It has been out of print for many years and is provided here to preserve this unique resource for OS-9 developers.

It is not a "chatty" book but is intended as a readable reference work, to give the reader the facts about OS- 9. Nor does it repeat information that is readily available from the Microware OS-9 User's and Technical Manuals.

This book gives the inside information about how the operating system works, in complete and authoritative detail. And it describes how the features of the operating system should be used in applications programs.

This book was written for OS-9 version 2.4 (equivalent to CD-RTOS), but also describes changes and improvements to the operating system from version 2.2 onwards.

Although the subtitle "1 - The Facts" on the cover and title page suggest more books in the series, such were ever published.

The chapters of this book are presented below as documents in Portable Document Format, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print them.

An integral version of this book is available on archive.org in a variety of formats and much higher resolution.
